After School Matters is a non-profit organization founded by former First Lady Maggie Daley that provides life-changing after-school and summer program opportunities to more than 15,000 Chicago high school teens each year.
They expose teens to life-changing opportunities to explore and develop their talents, while gaining critical skills for work, college and beyond.
Recently UpShift hosted 10 high school students from After School Matters for a tour of our Chicago office. The students were introduced to UpShift’s Design and Web teams, our work process, and samples of past work. Eager to learn more, the students began asking many well-thought questions about specific projects, website coding and logo design.
It was our honor to host these inquisitive students and hopefully encourage a few of them to stick with graphic design in college.
